HOW TO PLAY WHODUNIT?
OVERVIEW The Sports Crime Squad needs your help in naming the correct ATR athlete guilty of committing the WHODUNIT? crime. Throughout the site, you will need to find clues that will help to identify the correct athlete. In addition, you will need to analyze these clues in the Forensic's Lab section to gather any additional information that might help with the case. The investigation will begin on July 9th, 2003 and end on August 10th, 2003. If you have any technical questions regarding the investigation, you can email the Sports Crime Squad at Whodunit@reebok.com. Please note, however, that the SCS will provide you with only technical assistance throughout the investigation but WILL NOT provide hints on what athlete committed the crime. HOME PAGE To begin the investigation, you'll need to first sign-up on by clicking on the JOIN THE INVESTIGATION button. Once the form page appears, type in the requested information keeping in mind that your email address and password will allow you future access to the WHODUNIT site. Your progress throughout the investigation will not be saved if you sign-up using a different email in the future. Once you have entered your information and have been accepted into the Sports Crime Squad, click on OK. You will then be allowed in the registered users area to begin the investigation. Click on CONTINUE THE INVESTIGATION and a window will appear that will have your information filled in. If your information does not appear, please fill in the appropriate fields with your email address and password that you used on the sign-up form. At this time, you will hear a voice saying, "You're all set to begin the investigation" and may begin. To view the WHODUNIT TV commercials, click on the lower arrow tab on the left hand side of the site anytime you are on the main page. To navigate the site, please click on the upper right hand NAVIGATION tab window to pull down a site subsection menu. SPORTS CRIME SQUAD You will be greeted with a personal message from Kinkaid and Harris, the Sports Crime Squad detectives. After the video clip has played, the window will shift down to your left. If you would like to watch the video again, click on the UP arrow and the window will re-appear. Directly below the VIDEO WINDOW is a bar, which reads PERCENT SOLVED. This is your PROGRESS METER that will help you to identify how far along you are in the investigation and how many more clues you'll need to find. To OPEN your PROGRESS METER, please click on the UP arrow. Your bar will show a percent sign (how far you are in the investigation) and a row of grey bars. The grey bars will fill in one at a time as you discover evidence, analyze evidence or interrogate athletes throughout your investigation. The square windows on the bar will fill in with graphic icons of the corresponding evidence you find throughout the site. On the right portion of the site, you will see the badges of Kinkaid and Harris. Click on the badges to view all the biographical information on your superiors. To download a WHODUNIT wallpaper, click on the SLIDE ICON in each detectives folder. You will need to check your computer's resolution to download the appropriate sized wallpaper. CRIME SCENE Click LET'S BEGIN in the upper left hand corner of the site to begin searching the crime scene. You will need to move your FLASHLIGHT around to crime scene to discover any clues or evidence. When you have discovered a clue, a YELLOW MARKER will appear. Click on the YELLOW MARKER and a window will come up with a larger view of the clue. On the window, click COLLECT EVIDENCE to add the clue or evidence to your INVENTORY BAR (where your PROGRESS METER is located.) If you rollover the same clue or evidence after you have already added it to your INVENTORY BAR, the window for the clue will say ALREADY COLLECTED! To open or close your INVENTORY BAR at any time throughout the site, click on the UP or DOWN arrow on the bar. Once you have found the necessary evidence to continue your investigation, click on the EVIDENCE ROOM and then your EVIDENCE BOARD to see which piece of evidence might need to be analyzed further. SUSPECTS Click on one of the four ATR athletes to get biographical information on each athlete. (PLEASE NOTE: On the July 21st and July 28th, you will be presented with a BEGIN INTERVIEW button on each athlete's folder. You will need to click on this area to interrogate the respective ATR athlete and to fill your progress bar.) Within each folder, you will find a SLIDE that you can click on to download that ATR athlete's wallpaper. Choose your correct desktop resolution to download. Also located within each folder is a SUSPECT PROFILE, which you can click on to gather more information on the athletes themselves. On each athlete's MUGSHOT, there is an AIM Icon. Click on the MUGSHOT to add this athlete's picture to your INSTANT MESSENGER graphic. To exit out of each athlete's bio, please click on the X on the upper right hand corner of the folder. EVIDENCE ROOM Click LET'S BEGIN to examine your evidence room. On the wall is a EVIDENCE BOARD which will display all evidence you have collected up until this point. Click on the EVIDENCE BOARD for a CLOSE-UP view of the board. Click on each piece of EVIDENCE to find if the piece of evidence will need to be examined or analyzed further. Once you have analyzed certain pieces of evidence, you can view the evidence on the board for the relative HINTS or CLUES that you gathered from your examination. Click on RETURN TO OFFICE VIEW on the bottom right hand corner to return to the normal view of your evidence room. Your room is interactive so you can search around your office for items to click on that might or might not help in the investigation. A few items that you can click on are THE ANSWERING MACHINE, ATR SHOES (in the upper right hand corner on top of the file cabinet) and DOUGHNUT (on the middle of your desk.) FORENSIC'S LAB Click LET'S BEGIN to analyze the evidence in the Forensic's Lab. There are three machines when your first visit the Forensic's Lab. You will need to access each machine and analyze evidence to fill up your progress bar. The three analyzers you will be presented with are THE TREAD ANALYZER, THE FLEX ANALYZER and THE BASKETBALL ANALYZER. Click on an analyzer to begin using it. Each analyzer will have a PULSATING BUTTON, which you will need to START THE MACHINE. After you have run the evidence through the appropriate machine and have gathered the corresponding clue, your progress meter will fill up. To return to the Forensic's Lab main view, click on RETURN TO LAB VIEW button on the lower right hand corner. FINAL Once you have collected all the evidence for that week of the investigation, you can view the HOME PAGE to take a poll on who you think committed the crime. Additional clues and evidence will be available on July 21st and July 28th. Please remember that you will need to use the same email you entered to log-in to the site on future dates or your investigation progress will not be retained and you are back to square one. When you think you know whodunit and the shoe they used to commit the crime, you will have the opportunity to enter your guess. Choose wisely, you will have only one opportunity to guess the answer. If you are wrong, you will not be entered into the random drawing for the Grand Prize. For any TECHNICAL QUESTIONS regarding the WHODUNIT Investigation, please email Whodunit@reebok.com.
